Ampthill - An Outstanding Place to Shop
Ampthill Chamber of Trade - Promoting the Town's Shops & Businesses
Totally Locally Ampthill Launch Day
Sunday 29th April 2002

Totally Locally, the innovative shop local campaign created to encourage local people to support the shops and businesses in their area, is launched in Ampthill on Sunday 29th April. There was an afternoon of activities shining a spotlight on the great shops the town has right on its doorstep.
Despite pouring rain for much of the afternoon residents and visitors took part in the Hidden Gems Treasure Trail, which highlighted what Ampthill's Totally Locally shops had to offer. There was also a Totally Locally Stand in the town centre, where residents could visit and find out more about the initiative. The King's Arms Gardens was also be open to the public to mark the occasion.
Ampthill is the latest of many towns across the country to adopt Totally Locally. The Totally Locally team will be providing free advice and marketing support to help Ampthill to emulate the success seen by other towns that have gone Totally Locally. They believe that if every adult in Ampthill spent just £5 more per week in their local independent shops it would be worth an extra £1.5 million to the local economy every year.
